Coach Slater's Personal Fitness class went to the weight room today to assess the health-related skill, strength.

Prom 2023
Tonight at 8PM
Parents come out and line the sidewalk for the Prom walk!!!

Coach Glory Slater's students in her Personal Fitness class were very competitive today. There is a standard that says you have to be competent in some health-related skills. One of those skills is strength. They will be going to lift weights and as they do they will tell what muscles are benefitted the most.
Today they had a muscle quiz in the form of a game where they had to identify the muscle groups and the time was recorded. The students were not only trying to beat the qualifying time(30 seconds to make a perfect score, an “A”), but the time of their classmates as well as all of my Personal Fitness classes.

PROM TIME!!!
Blessed to have a GREAT group helping!

DHS Junior and Senior Prom
Friday @ 8PM
Tickets are $15 each
Purchase from Mrs. Westerman until Friday at 10AM.
Good food, a 3D Photo Booth and a Photographer will be available and will make packages available through his website after prom.

Coach Slater's Personal Fitness students had an online test and an essay where they used their individual data from some exercises to draw a conclusion about their overall fitness the last couple of days.
They welcomed the standard where they had to exhibit proper etiquette, respect for others and teamwork while engaging in a physical or social activity. First they used a giant tic tac toe then they put on pinnies and played human tic tac toe. They had to look straight ahead or head down so not to tell teammates where to sit The respect was great The respect was great.

This is a reminder that the 9th and 10th grade students will be taking the ACT Aspire Monday and Tuesday mornings next week. Please make sure they get a good night of rest, eat breakfast, and arrive on time. Testing will wrap each day around noon. If you have questions, please contact Brandi Anthony at 870-382-4151.

Coach Slater's class is working on one of the health-related skills to be healthy, and body composition.
They are using a fat loss monitor where they will put in personal information to get their BMI and percent of fat this will help them see if they are in one of the following categories:
very lean, healthy fitness zone, needs improvement or a health risk.
